March is a time to look forward, embrace new energy, and create meaningful moments. At Lumos, we believe music can do more than bring people together for an evening. It can create real change. That’s why our Charity of the Month is Playing For Change Foundation, an organisation using music to support communities around the world.
About Playing For Change Foundation
Playing For Change Foundation was founded in 2007 with a clear mission: to create positive change through music and arts education. Their work supports marginalised youth in diverse communities globally, many in low and lower-middle income countries.
By building music and arts schools, training local teachers, and providing access to education, they give young people the chance to learn, grow, and express themselves. These communities already hold deep cultural richness, and the foundation helps turn that into opportunity.
Why It Matters
Music has the power to connect people, build confidence, and open doors. For many young people, it offers a sense of purpose and a way to shape their future.
Through its global programmes, Playing For Change Foundation creates safe spaces where young people can learn, collaborate, and be part of something bigger. It’s about access, opportunity, and using creativity as a force for good.
At Lumos, we see the impact of music every day. Supporting this foundation means helping that impact reach far beyond our concerts.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to learn more or get involved, visit playingforchange.org. You can donate, support their programmes, or simply share their work. Every action helps create more access to music, more opportunity for young people, and stronger communities around the world.
Let’s make this March about more than just music. Let’s use it to make a difference.
